Avon Skin Care :)

** I WOKE UP SICK TODAY :( I WAS GOING TO DO ANOTHER LOOK BUT I LOOK LIKE POO SO I DECIDED TO POST MY SKINCARE ROUTINE **

Hey Girls,

I recently re-discovered the Avon Skin Care line, I had purchased this a couple of months ago when I was selling Avon but after purchasing new items it took the backseat...

I ran out of my Neutrogena face moisturizer though and I did not feel like spending the money at the time to purchase a new one so I brought out my Avon Goodies !

I have the orange colored line which is for normal skin, it is called..
Solutions plus+ Total Radiance
The line consists of three products:
  1. The Day Lotion
  2. The Eye Gel
  3. The Night Cream

Description on Website is:

Day Lotion SPF 15
This light, oil-free lotion contains a unique light-activated delivery system that releases a cosmetic ingredient as the exposure to light increases. It enhances skin radiance and improves texture, tone and clarity. Leaves skin that looks beautifully healthier and radiant. Helps prevent sunburn. 4 fl. oz.
Regular price: $13.00

Eye Gel This soothing gel refreshes and revives the eye area. Minimizes the appearance of undereye bags and helps brighten dark circles. Hypoallergenic. Dermatologist-tested. Fragrance-free. .5 fl. oz. Regular price: $12.50

Night Cream
This replenishing cream, formulated with Ulex Europea Flower Extract, boosts skin's hydration and enhances its ability to lock in moisture. It also helps revitalize the look of skin and reveals brighter, healthier-looking skin. 1.7 fl. oz.
Regular price: $13.00

I personally love all 3 of these products, and I have been using them daily and religiously for the past couple weeks. My skin has been substantially more soft and moisturized and I definitely see an overall improvement in texture. My pores have even gotten smaller.

When I put on foundation and powder my skin almost looks like porcelain !
And after applying the eye cream the dryness around my eyes is gone, and I have a smooth canvas for any masterpiece I want to create on my eyes.

I give all three of these products 5 stars !

I have no cons !

Just wanted to share my favorite skin care items for now, :)

7 Deadly Sins Series: Sloth (halloween wearable)

** used vaseline on lids to make it glossy **

Sloth is the reluctance to work; or in other words Laziness..

It is also defined as the wasting of a skill or talent given to you by God; for instance you have been blessed with a beautiful voice but refuse to use it.

My interpretation is that by wasting your virtues or gifts you spend time on unusual things and therefore slowly but surely your skill is lost and you are left with nothing of value.

I wanted to do a look that signified death, sorrow, and emptiness.. something with not much color or aliveness.

As people that are lazy usually seem like they have no life in them... they are lifeless.

Here is my look.

I wanted to add glossy-ness to my look because I wanted to make the illusion that I was crying.

Products Used:

FACE:
Mary Kay Medium Coverage Foundation in Ivory
Cyber Lipstick from MAC for contouring

LIPS:
Cyber Lipstick in the middle dabbed over powder

EYES:
NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean
Coastal Scents 88 Palette:
black shadow, and the two dark purple shadows
Nude shadow for highlight

Thats it :)

I hope you enjoyed the first look of my series...
and if you think this would be nice for halloween request a tutorial !

Highlights of TeenVogue Oct2011

Hey Girls,

So I decided to start doing these posts on my favorite parts of any magazine I'm currently subscribed to, kind of like an overview of the magazine.

Let me know your thoughts on these type of posts :)

I just received my issue of the Teen Vogue October issue ( i know kinda soon huh ) but I guess I'll be an early bird and just do the post... :)

this is how it will work: as soon as I finish reading the magazine for that month I will do the highlights,  so that if your interested in the issue you can purchase it :)

LET'S GET STARTED !

Click picture to Enlarge it :)

This is a collage of my favorite parts of the magazine, the pictures of the cover girl Lily Collins are absolutely gorgeous! She has the most beautiful eyebrows ever ! And she is very talented... you may recognize her from the movie the Blind Side (she was the daughter of Sandra Bullock.)
(SHE IS ON THE LEFT SIDE)

Another part of the magazine that I loved was the interview with Lady Gaga's little sister, yea i know kinda weird that she even has a sister, lol. She is going to school to become a fashion designer, and is actually trying to work herself up by her own means which I think is pretty DARN AWESOME :)
(SHE AND LADY GAGA ARE ON TOP RIGHT)

On the bottom left of my collage is a page that announces this monthly giveaway, which is always a good thing haha :)

And in the bottom middle is an article that I thought was really interesting, Betsey Johnson did a make over on two "average" girls, and transformed them into edgy girls that can take over the catwalk or the streets of New York, it was really a cute article <3

BUT BY FAR MY FAVORITE PART OF THE MAGAZINE IS THAT TEEN VOGUE FEATURES MANY BLOGGERS LIKE YOU AND I AS THEIR WRITERS.. !
I THINK IT'S SO NEAT THAT THEY SUPPORT THEY BLOGGING WORLD SO MUCH !
THEY HAVE A STYLE BLOGGER, CULTURE BLOGGER, AND MUSIC BLOGGER... AND MUCH MORE :)

I am definitely glad I subscribed to it !:)

Hope you enjoyed the post...

My Perfect Foundation

Hey Girls !

I wanted to do a super quick post on something that I am loving right now !

A while back ago I had bought the Almay Smart Shade Concealer in Light/Medium and I had kind of forgot about it.

It is a really interesting concept and I am sure you all have heard about it, it starts off in a kind of gray/ashy shade and as you apply it to your skin it adapts to your color.

It reminds me a lot of a daily moisturizer that Estee Lauder has.

A couple of days ago I just wanted to wear a little bit of foundation to school but I didnt want to look made up and I remembered this.

I was only going to apply it to my blemishes but then I decided to just apply it all over like I would foundation, and I only needed a teeny bit to cover my entire face.

I was so happy with the outcome, it evened out my skin tone and covered my dark circles.. it also gave me a very satin look ...not too matte or dewy.

After that I applied a little bit of my studio fix on my T-Zone and my cheeks to control oil...

Everyone at school complimented me on my skin and the best thing is that they all thought I was wearing no makeup !

Another plus is that it has and SPF of 15 !

I think I will definitely be trying out the foundation that goes with this product, but if I don't like it I'll stick with the concealer :)

Here are some swatches :)

I LOVE THE PACKAGING !

IT'S A LITTLE BIT TOO DARK FOR THE INSIDE OF MY ARM ,
WHICH IS SUPER WHITE LOL. BUT PERFECT FOR MY FACE :)

THAT'S IT GIRLS <3

HOPE YOU ENJOYED THIS POST :)

a couple of things..

I know that my blogging hasn't been that great lately, I've been trying to work on quality instead of quantity :)

I wanted to share a couple of posts I have coming up:

  • 7 Sins Series, this series has been very popular and I have decided to join the band wagon. I think I am going to do 2-3 looks per month ... :)
  • Bird Series, I started this series waaaay back and I am definitely gonna continue doing it.
  • Barbie/Doll Inspired Series, I recently looked up pictures of Barbies and I was surprised at seeing how many different looks there are. I will definitely make this an on going series for a long time.
Here are some pictures of some looks that I hope to recreate and that I am getting inspired by:

Just some little peeks, I don't want to show the juicy pictures yet lol ;)

and here is a list of the 7 Sins:
  1. Lust
  2. Gluttony
  3. Greed
  4. Sloth
  5. Wrath
  6. Envy
  7. Pride
I also a am going to do looks inspired by editorials, models, or celebrities.

I feel that by putting my thoughts into perspective and setting time goals, I will be able to post more quality posts & still post as much as before.

Thanks for following !
It means so much to me !

Remember..

Today is the ten year anniversary of 9/11, it marked not only a terrible day in history but also countless lives were taken away, and millions of family members, friends, and coworkers lost someone near and dear to them.

I want to take this opportunity to send my most heartwarming wishes and thoughts to those affected.

I know that everyday that passes by does not make the absence of your loved ones any easier, but remember that they are in a better place, and their soul is at peace.

to those that fought for others, and that lost their life being heroes.

to those innocent people..

you will ALWAYS be remembered.
much love,
much respect,
marla

Black Capped Chickadee (BirdInspired)

I haven't done a bird inspired look in a while and I decided to do one inspired by a Black Capped Chickadee... this look is a little bit different though..

And I have to say that I love how it turned out ! It is kinda dark and vampy looking and is probably one of my favorite looks I've done so far.

I wanted to keep this look as muted as possible, because this bird has no other color besides white, gray and black.

If you guys like this look let me know and I can do a tutorial :)

Enough chit chat, on to the products I used..
